This painting of a pair of boots drowning in a puddle reminded me of a close friendship. At the time I made the comparison we were struggling through some things but sound solidarity being in it together.

Side by side through the stormiest of weather

The flood pushed us close to the end of our tether

But before we went under and drowned altogether

You laughed and said plainly "We're in this together.”
