The Teacup

We knew it was fragile and we did not take care
Like all of the things we no longer share
It slipped from my hands and cracked in two
The broken pieces made me think of you.

When I broke this little teacup my first thought was to glue it back together. But that somehow seemed redundant. It was no longer going to serve as a tea cup and so I thought I'd try and capture its beauty some other way. the whole process taught me to be patient and respectful and when life requires it, to let broken thighs be.
